Frequently asked questions when booking with Braemar cabins.

What self-catering accommodation is available at Braemar Cabins?

Braemar Cabins offers a range of comfortable self-catering cabins in the centre of Braemar, ideal for couples, families, walkers, and small groups visiting the Cairngorms area.

We currently have five cabins accommodating up to 18 guests in total:

    • Clunie – Sleeps 2 (ideal for couples)
    • Callater – Sleeps 2
    • Carn na Drochaide – Sleeps 4
    • Choinnich – Sleeps 4
    • Auld Bank House – Sleeps 6 (our largest accommodation)

All cabins are located within easy walking distance of shops, cafés, and local walking trails in Braemar.

Are the Braemar cabins dog friendly?

Yes. All cabins at Braemar Cabins are dog friendly, making them a great base for guests visiting the Cairngorms National Park with their pets.

Nearby hills, forests, and walking routes make Braemar an excellent destination for walking holidays with dogs.

What amenities are included in the cabins? 

Most cabins include the following amenities:

  • Kitchen with induction hob (no oven)
  • Microwave and fridge
  • Underfloor heating downstairs
  • Wet-room style shower with plenty of hot water
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Outdoor decking area
  • One on-site parking space per cabin

A travel cot can be provided upon request (bedding not included).

Is parking available at the cabins?

Yes. Each cabin has one dedicated on-site parking space for guests staying at Braemar Cabins.

What time is check-in and check-out?

  • Check-in: 4:00 PM
  • Check-out: 10:00 AM

Early check-in or late check-out may be available depending on availability. Please contact us at info@braemarcabins.com to request this.

How far in advance should I book accommodation in Braemar?

If availability allows, same-day bookings may be possible.

However, during busy times such as summer holidays and the famous Braemar Gathering held every September, accommodation in Braemar fills quickly. We recommend booking several months in advance for these peak periods.

Can larger groups stay at Braemar Cabins?

Yes. While the largest single cabin sleeps 6, groups can block-book all five cabins to accommodate up to 18 guests.

This option works well for:

  • Walking groups
  • Family gatherings
  • Small retreats

If you are planning a group stay, we recommend contacting us before booking to make sure the cabins suit your group’s needs.

What is the  minimum stay?

Minimum stays vary by accommodation:

    • 1 night minimum: Clunie, Callater, Carn na Drochaide, and Choinnich
    • 3 night minimum: Auld Bank House

However, 1-night stays at Auld Bank House may sometimes be available on request. Please email info@braemarcabins.com to enquire.

Are there accessible cabins for guests with mobility needs? 

Yes. Carn na Drochaide has been designed to be disability-friendly, featuring:

  • Wheelchair access directly to the cabin
  • Electric stair lift
  • Electric beds
  • Portable shower stool available on request

What is the cancellation policy?

The cancellation policy is outlined in the Terms & Conditions on the Braemar Cabins website. Guests should review these terms before confirming a booking.

Is there somewhere secure to store mountain bikes during our stay? 

Yes,  there are secure bike lockers on site
